Position Summary:

The Buyer is responsible for purchasing materials, components, and outside services to support gearbox repair, rebuild, and aftermarket service operations. This position works closely with Sales, Production, and Service teams to ensure parts are available on time, costs are controlled, and customer repair schedules are met.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Purchase materials, replacement parts, and outside services for repair, rebuild, and spare parts orders.
• Coordinate with Sales, Production, and Service to support customer repair projects
• Create, monitor, and expedite purchase orders to meet production and customer deadlines.
• Assist with pricing repair jobs, field service work, and spare parts quotations.
• Maintain purchasing records and supplier information within SAP.
• Update SAP approval status for externally provided products, services, and processes.
• Communicate material availability and resolve purchasing-related issues with internal teams and suppliers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of five (5) years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong purchasing and vendor management skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and mechanical components; gearbox or power transmission experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
