Pay Rate: $18-19 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Project Duration: Approximately 3 months
Position Type: Temporary / Contract Assignment

 

Position Summary

We are seeking dependable and hardworking General Laborers to support a new construction project in Spicewood, Texas. The primary responsibility of this role is assisting with trenching and ditch digging for the installation of underground electrical conduit and utility lines. Workers will support electrical crews by preparing trench routes, moving materials, maintaining clean work areas, and performing other general construction labor duties as directed by the site supervisor.

 

This is a physically demanding position that requires working outdoors in the heat.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Dig trenches and ditches using hand tools and other approved methods.
• Assist with the preparation of underground pathways for electrical conduit installation.
• Remove dirt, rocks, debris, and other materials from excavation areas.
• Backfill trenches after conduit and utility lines have been installed.
• Load, unload, and transport tools, materials, and supplies throughout the job site.
• Perform site cleanup and maintain an organized work environment.
• Assist electrical crews with non-electrical support tasks.
• Follow all company and job site safety policies and procedures.
• Attend and participate in required safety meetings.
• Perform other general labor duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Employees must report to work each day with the following PPE:

• Hard hat
• High-visibility safety vest
• Safety glasses with side shields
• Work boots (steel-toe preferred)
• Any additional PPE required by the job site or supervisor

Failure to wear required PPE may result in removal from the work site.

 

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and work on uneven terrain throughout the shift.
• Ability to perform repetitive physical labor for extended periods.
• Ability to work outdoors in hot, cold, dusty, and changing weather conditions.

 

Qualifications

• Previous construction or general labor experience preferred, but not required.
• Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work safely around construction equipment and active construction operations.

 

Work Environment

• Active commercial construction site.
• Exposure to noise, dust, mud, uneven ground, and changing weather conditions.
• Regular interaction with electricians, equipment operators, contractors, and site supervisors
