Engineering Temp 

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Temporary Engineer to support engineering projects, process improvements, and daily manufacturing operations. This position is ideal for someone with strong technical aptitude, experience with CAD software, and a desire to contribute to product development, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and enjoys working in a collaborative, hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

Engineering Support

• Assist with engineering projects from concept through implementation.
• Support product design, analysis, testing, and process improvement initiatives.
• Update engineering documentation and production records.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and revision history.
• Perform additional engineering-related duties as assigned.

Documentation & Process Improvement

• Update and organize production documentation to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
• Develop standardized digital documentation and tracking systems.
• Improve traceability of engineering information through organized databases and identification systems.
• Assist with data management using Excel, SharePoint, or similar software.

Design & Continuous Improvement

• Support the design and redesign of fixtures, workstations, and production equipment.
• Improve inspection processes, workplace organization, and overall efficiency.
• Assist in developing solutions that improve ergonomics, quality, and productivity.
• Create and maintain identification systems for tooling and equipment.

Tooling & Equipment

• Organize and maintain tools, fixtures, and engineering equipment.
• Assist with fixture identification, tracking, and inventory management.
• Support testing and validation of equipment and manufacturing processes.
• Help improve equipment reliability and standardization.

Collaboration & Communication

• Work effectively with engineering, production, and quality teams.
• Communicate project updates and technical information clearly and professionally.
• Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills while managing multiple priorities.
• Promote teamwork and contribute to a positive work environment.
• Follow all workplace safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience using SolidWorks (required).
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical prints.
• Ability to read and work with metric measurements.
• Strong mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Experience supporting continuous improvement or process optimization projects.
• Familiarity with document control or engineering change processes.
• Experience with database management, SharePoint, or Excel tracking systems.
