Architectural Millwork Project Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee custom fabrication and construction projects from planning through completion. This role is responsible for coordinating project schedules, managing budgets, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate has strong project management experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination
- Develop and maintain project schedules, timelines, and milestones.
- Coordinate resources to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
- Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to ensure project requirements are understood.
- Collaborate with clients, design professionals, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Recommend materials, finishes, and fabrication methods that meet project requirements.
Budget & Cost Management
- Prepare and manage project budgets.
- Monitor project costs and track expenses throughout each phase.
- Review estimates and negotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and project objectives.
Quality Assurance
- Monitor fabrication and installation activities to ensure work meets project specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct inspections and address quality concerns as they arise.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and best practices.
Client Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project.
- Provide regular project updates and communicate schedules, progress, and changes.
- Manage change orders and resolve project issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Team Leadership
- Lead and coordinate project teams, including engineering, drafting, production, and installation personnel.
- Assign responsibilities and monitor project progress.
- Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement among team members.
Scheduling & Logistics
- Coordinate procurement, fabrication, deliveries, and installation schedules.
- Ensure materials and resources are available to support project timelines.
- Adjust schedules as needed to maintain project efficiency.
Risk Management & Documentation
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, drawings, change orders, meeting notes, and progress reports.
- Prepare project closeout documentation upon completion.
Qualifications
- Previous project management experience in manufacturing, construction, custom fabrication, or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes, construction methods, and project execution.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience developing project schedules and managing budgets.
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing custom fabrication or specialty construction projects.
- Experience reviewing technical drawings, blueprints, or architectural plans.
- Knowledge of estimating, procurement, and vendor management.
