Tax Preparer 

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Tax & Accounting Professional to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, and accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple client accounts while ensuring an organized workflow in a fast-paced office environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual and business tax returns accurately and efficiently.
• Perform bookkeeping and accounting services for a variety of clients.
• Process payroll and maintain payroll records.
• Manage client information received through appointments, document drop-offs, and secure online portals.
• Maintain an organized workflow, ensuring projects are completed in a timely first-in, first-out process.
• Communicate professionally with clients to gather information and answer questions.
• Utilize accounting software to maintain accurate financial records.
• Review financial information for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with additional accounting and tax-related projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of tax preparation experience.
• Associate degree in Accounting or a related field required.
• Experience preparing individual tax returns.
• Experience with bookkeeping and payroll processing.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience using professional tax preparation software.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience preparing business and nonprofit tax returns.
• Professional tax credentials (EA, Registered Tax Return Preparer, or Registered Tax Preparer) preferred.
• Experience supporting multiple clients in a public accounting or tax office.
