🎯 Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and service-oriented Custodian Maintenance Worker I to help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming City facilities throughout Redmond. This position combines commercial custodial services, building maintenance, facility support, janitorial services, grounds upkeep, and vehicle operation to support daily operations across multiple City buildings.
The ideal candidate has commercial custodial experience, basic maintenance knowledge, and takes pride in maintaining public facilities to high standards.
🛠 Responsibilities
• Perform custodial and janitorial duties, including cleaning, sanitizing, restocking, and maintaining facility appearance
• Complete minor maintenance and repair tasks to support building operations
• Operate City vehicles, including a Ford F-150, to travel between City facilities
• Maintain clean, safe, and well-organized public buildings and workspaces
• Address minor maintenance issues before they become larger problems
• Help maintain safe and accessible walkways by removing debris, snow, and hazards
• Follow all vehicle safety procedures and operational guidelines
• Support a positive, professional, and team-oriented workplace culture
• Assist with facility upkeep, preventive maintenance, and general building support duties
• Maintain compliance with safety standards and City policies
✅ Minimum Qualifications
• Valid driver's license
• Minimum of 12 months of verifiable commercial custodial experience
• Familiarity with custodial supplies, cleaning materials, equipment, and procedures
• Knowledge of basic facilities maintenance and building upkeep practices
• Ability to work independently and efficiently across multiple locations
