Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Location: Modesto, CA
Pay: $40.00–$47.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)

Schedule

• Full-time
• Current opening is on Day Shift
• Start time between 6:00 AM – 7:00 AM
• Overtime and weekends may be required.
• This day shift is temporary to cover an employee on leave. Once they return, the successful candidate may be reassigned to another shift based on business needs.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving production equipment and facility systems to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment, and the ability to diagnose equipment issues quickly to minimize downtime.

Candidates must provide and maintain their own standard hand tools.

What You'll Do

• Perform preventative, predictive, and emergency maintenance on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Install and repair:
  • Electric motors
  • Motor controls
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Sensors
  • Relays
  • Contactors
  • Transformers
  • Electrical panels
• Read and interpret:
  • Electrical schematics
  • Blueprints
  • PLC ladder logic
  • Equipment manuals
• Troubleshoot automated production and packaging equipment.
• Repair conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, valves, bearings, and other mechanical equipment.
• Assist with equipment installations and machinery upgrades.
• Complete preventative maintenance and lubrication schedules.
• Document maintenance work accurately using the company's maintenance system.
• Work closely with production teams to minimize downtime.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all food safety, GMP, SQF, and company safety requirements.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum 4 years of industrial maintenance experience
• Manufacturing experience (food manufacturing preferred)
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Experience working with 120V–480V three-phase electrical systems
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
• Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred

Experience with:

• Allen-Bradley PLCs
• Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
• Servo systems
• Industrial automation
• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
• Root Cause Analysis
• Microsoft Office
