Quality Assurance (QA) Technician

Location: Modesto, CA
Pay: $25.00–$27.00 per hour (DOE)

Must be flexible to work any assigned shift.
Occasional overtime, holidays, and some Saturday mornings may be required.

Position Summary

We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Technician to help ensure our food products meet quality and food safety standards. In this role, you will inspect products, perform testing, complete documentation, and support production by maintaining compliance with GMP, SQF, and HARPC food safety programs.

Responsibilities

Perform quality inspections throughout the production process.
Conduct product sampling and testing.
Monitor food safety, food defense, and quality standards.
Complete quality paperwork accurately and maintain production records.
Perform equipment inspections and sanitation verification swabs.
Enter quality data into the QA database.
Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
Assist with identifying and managing product holds.
Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Follow all company safety policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Qualifications

Required

High school diploma or GED.
At least 1 year of experience in a dairy or food manufacturing environment.
Basic computer skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic math skills.

Preferred

Previous Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience.
Knowledge of GMPs and food safety programs.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field.

Equipment & Technical Skills

Experience with or willingness to learn:

pH and salt analyzers
Scales
Pipettes
Centrifuges
Laboratory testing equipment
Microsoft Office and basic computer systems

Physical Requirements

Stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.; occasionally more with assistance.
Bend, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the shift.
Ability to perform repetitive hand movements.
Ability to distinguish colors, odors, and product characteristics.
