Service Technician

Salary: $25.00 to $34.00

Our client, a well-established and reputable construction company in Ottawa's South End, is seeking two highly motivated Service Technician to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dynamic company that offers year-round employment.

As a Foundation Service Technician, you will perform foundation repair, concrete restoration, and maintenance work. The ideal candidate has construction experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to safely operate a variety of construction tools and equipment. Experience with concrete, foundations, and concrete finishing is considered an asset. If you take pride in quality workmanship and enjoy hands-on work, we'd love to hear from you.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Perform daily foundation repair and maintenance tasks, including patching beam pockets using non-shrink grout and monitoring curing times to ensure repairs are completed to quality standards
• Carry out a variety of foundation and concrete repairs, including repairing honeycombing on foundation walls, crack repairs, basement floor repairs, window cut-outs and replacements, and other related restoration work
• Install rigid insulation (Styrofoam) in and around foundation walls in accordance with project specifications and company standards
• Inspect completed work to ensure repairs meet safety, quality, and customer expectations.
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, repairs completed, materials used, and project progress, and submit required documentation to the office
• Safely operate company vehicles and use company-provided tools, equipment, and materials
• Keep work sites clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, office staff, and customers regarding project status, repairs, and any issues requiring attention
• Assist with additional foundation service and repair tasks as assigned

Required skills and qualifications:

• Previous construction experience with a solid understanding of construction methods, processes, and job site safety practices
• Experience using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment
• Concrete and foundation repair experience is considered a strong asset
• Concrete finishing experience is considered a strong asset
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently
• Ability to safely operate construction tools and equipment, including wall saws, quick-cut saws, trowels, ladders, and other industry-standard tools
• Ability to read and follow work orders, instructions, and project specifications
• Physically capable of performing demanding work, including lifting, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in various weather conditions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Hourly Pay Rate: Range from $25.00 to $34.00 per hour, based on experience 

Work Hours: Monday to Friday – 7:00am to 3-5:00pm – Overtime after 44 hours per week
