Medical Assistant Float

Job Summary:
We are seeking a versatile and dependable Medical Assistant – Float to support both front and back office operations. This role works closely with providers and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow, high-quality care, and accurate documentation. Experience with eClinicalWorks is required.

 

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
• No weekends

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with patient examinations and treatments
• Perform clinical duties under the supervision of a provider or registered nurse
• Interview patients, obtain vital signs, and accurately document patient information in the medical record
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms prior to patient visits
• Administer treatments and procedures as ordered by the provider
• Document provider encounters, including diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions as directed
• Transcribe provider orders for laboratory tests, radiology, and medications
• Support front office operations including answering phones, scheduling, filing, and maintaining patient records
• Assist with ordering, stocking, and managing medical supplies
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant clinical environment

Requirements:

Licensure / Certification:

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required
• Certification must be from an approved credentialing body, including but not limited to: AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or NAHP
• eClinicalWorks experience is required!
• Minimum of 2 year of experience in both medical front and back office settings

Additional Requirements:

• BLS Provider Certification required
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
• Flexibility to float between clinics as needed
