Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Door Builder to join our production team. In this hands-on role, you will assemble and prepare door components, build complete door units, install hardware, and ensure all products are completed according to customer specifications and quality standards. This position requires the ability to read work orders, layouts, and technical documents, operate hand tools and production equipment, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret job orders, work instructions, layouts, pick sheets, and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Pull, stage, and verify materials needed for each project.
  • Assemble door units and components according to specifications.
  • Install hardware, locks, rods, dampeners, and other door components.
  • Construct and prepare door panels, headers, and related components.
  • Operate hand and power tools, including drills, impact drivers, screwdrivers, wrenches, and specialty equipment.
  • Safely operate punch presses and other production machinery.
  • Verify measurements, alignment, and proper component placement to ensure product quality.
  • Inspect materials for defects or damage prior to assembly.
  • Maintain production pace while meeting daily goals and quality expectations.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure accurate and complete orders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in assembly, fabrication, carpentry, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, layouts, technical drawings, and production documents.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and production equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including measurements, fractions, and material dimensions.
  • Ability to distinguish between similar parts and components and follow detailed instructions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing production priorities and schedules.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as needed, including team lifting larger components.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to safely operate tools and machinery while following established safety procedures.
