Job Title: Saw Operator 

Location: Monroe, NC 

Pay: $18.22

Schedule: 1st and 2nd shift available. 

Position Summary

The Saw Operator is responsible for calibrating, programming, operating, and maintaining saw equipment to cut materials to precise specifications. This role supports production goals by ensuring quality, accuracy, safety, and efficient material flow throughout the operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily saw calibration and recalibrate equipment as needed to ensure cutting accuracy.
• Program saw settings based on work orders and project specifications.
• Cut materials to required lengths and dimensions and verify measurements before releasing completed work.
• Read and interpret work orders, production documents, and measurements.
• Receive, sort, and stage materials according to production requirements.
• Deliver cut components to designated work areas or assembly teams.
• Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance or operational concerns.
• Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and blade changes.
• Record production and quality data as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and required use of PPE.
• Work cooperatively with team members to meet production schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure and work with precise measurements.
• Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and standard measurements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Previous experience operating saws or production equipment is preferred but not required.

• Produce accurately cut materials that consistently meet specifications and quality standards.
• Complete daily calibration and verification checks to maintain cutting precision.
• Meet productivity goals while minimizing material waste and rework.
• Maintain safe work practices and support a zero-incident work environment.
• Keep equipment and work areas clean, organized, and operational.
• Ensure timely delivery of cut materials to support production flow.
• Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and teamwork.
• Successfully learn and apply training, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand movements.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing 10-20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to safely handle long or awkward materials.
• Ability to work in a production environment with exposure to noise, dust, and moving equipment.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout the shift.

• Automated and semi-automated saws
• Saw programming and control systems
• Tape measures, calipers, rulers, and other measuring devices
• Material handling carts, pallet jacks, and forklifts (if certified)
• Production documentation and inventory tracking systems
• Personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety-toe footwear

• Fast-paced, team-oriented production environment.
• Regular exposure to noise, moving equipment, and changing production demands.
• Overtime and weekend work may be required based on operational needs.
