CNC Machinist / Onsrud Operator

Direct Hire | All Shifts Available (1st, 2nd & 3rd Shift)

Location: Monroe, NC

Pay: $25-$28/hour

We are seeking skilled CNC professionals to operate Onsrud CNC equipment and milling machines in a fast-paced production environment. What You'll Do

• Operate and monitor CNC machining equipment, including Onsrud CNC machines and CNC mills.
• Load and secure door slabs and materials onto CNC worktables.
• Select, load, and run pre-set CNC programs based on customer specifications.
• Machine components by cutting hinge pockets, lock bores, deadbolt holes, lite openings, decorative profiles, and other precision features.
• Perform machine setups, tool changes, offset adjustments, and first-piece inspections.
• Read and interpret shop orders, blueprints, layouts, and technical specifications.
• Verify dimensions and maintain tight tolerances using calipers, gauges, and precision measuring tools.
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure proper dimensions, hole locations, squareness, surface quality, and routing depths.
• Deburr finished products and inspect raw materials for defects prior to machining.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, including cleaning equipment, monitoring vacuum systems, replacing tooling, and reporting machine issues.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area while meeting daily production goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months of CNC machining experience required.
• Experience operating CNC mills, routers, or similar machining equipment.
• Ability to perform tool changes, machine setups, and offset adjustments.
• Basic program editing experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and process documentation.
• Strong math skills, including working with fractions, measurements, and tolerances.
• Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
