Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Schedule: Rotating monthly shifts

• Month 1: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Month 2: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Mule Driver / Yard Dog Operator to support terminal operations in North Charleston, SC. This position is responsible for moving trailers throughout the yard, positioning equipment for loading and unloading, and maintaining efficient traffic flow within the facility. Candidates must be comfortable working a rotating day/night schedule and adhering to all safety and operational procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate a yard tractor (Mule/Yard Dog) to move and position trailers safely throughout the terminal.
• Transport trailers between designated staging, loading, unloading, and parking areas.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment.
• Verify trailer numbers and locations to ensure accurate placement.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and terminal personnel.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following all company policies and safety regulations.
• Report equipment issues, accidents, or safety concerns immediately.
• Assist with general yard operations as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid TWIC Card required.
• Previous experience operating a Mule, Yard Dog, or similar yard tractor preferred.
• Ability to work rotating monthly shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb in and out of equipment, and perform physical tasks associated with the position.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent climbing in and out of yard equipment.
• Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.
