Delivery Driver (Local Routes)

This is more than just a driving job—it's a hands-on position where you'll load your truck, make deliveries, and ensure products are delivered safely and professionally directly to customers.

Job Responsibilities

As a Delivery Driver, you'll play an important role in ensuring customers receive their orders accurately and on time. Responsibilities include:

Load, organize, and secure your assigned truck before beginning your daily route.
Complete local delivery routes throughout Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and the greater Hampton Roads area.
Deliver products inside customer locations—not just to the front door. Deliveries may require carrying products to upper-level offices or businesses located on second or third floors.
Safely unload and transport heavy office supplies, furniture, cases of paper, water, and other products using lift gates, hand trucks, and proper lifting techniques.
Frequently get in and out of the truck throughout the day while making multiple customer stops.
Use a tablet and delivery software to review routes, obtain proof of delivery, and complete required paperwork.
Process returns and undelivered merchandise.
Complete daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns.
Assist with loading trucks and preparing orders for the following day's deliveries when routes are completed.

Physical Requirements

This is NOT a sit-in-the-truck driving position. This is a physically demanding delivery role that requires employees to work throughout the day both inside and outside of the truck.

Candidates must be comfortable with:

Frequently entering and exiting the delivery truck throughout the day.
Loading and unloading heavy products at every stop.
Carrying deliveries into customer businesses, including navigating stairs when elevators are unavailable.
Delivering to the customer's designated delivery location—not simply leaving items at the entrance.
Lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds safely.
Pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, reaching, and walking throughout the workday.
Standing and walking for extended periods.
Working in warehouses, outdoors, and inside customer facilities in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who has:

A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Previous delivery driving experience preferred (not required).
Excellent attendance and reliability.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Basic computer and tablet proficiency.
A positive attitude and willingness to work until the route is complete.
The ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism with customers.

Schedule

Approximately 35–40 hours per week
Local routes only—no overnight travel
Start times may begin as early as 6:30 AM
End times vary depending on route completion and daily workload.
