Our client is seeking a skilled maintenance professional to join their team in Hamilton. What You'll Be Doing
As an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright), you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of production equipment. Responsibilities include:
- Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Performing preventative and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment performance and reduce downtime.
- Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled equipment issues.
- Reading and interpreting mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic schematics.
- Completing emergency breakdown repairs quickly and safely.
- Participating in equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Completing work orders and maintaining accurate maintenance records.
- Following all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hazard identification, and emergency response protocols.
- Ensuring all repairs meet company standards, manufacturer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Working collaboratively with production and maintenance teams to improve operational efficiency.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Valid 433A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Licence.
- General Machinist certification with significant industrial maintenance experience will also be considered.
- Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience maintaining heavy industrial production equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical drawings.
- Computer skills for maintenance management systems and documentation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety.
Schedule
- Rotating Day and Night shifts
- 10 to 12-hour shifts
- Approximately 44-48 hours per week
- Overtime opportunities available
