Maintenance Technician

Location: Waterloo, IA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM (2nd Shift)
Type: Temp-to-Hire Opportunity

Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals in Waterloo is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support warehouse operations by ensuring equipment, machinery, and facilities are operating safely and efficiently. This position involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, conducting inspections, and promoting a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repair of equipment, machinery, and warehouse infrastructure
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues
• Operate hand tools, power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment
• Conduct regular facility inspections to identify maintenance needs
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment
• Assist with warehouse cleanliness and organization
• Follow and promote workplace safety procedures
• Support changing business needs and perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial mechanical systems
• Commitment to workplace safety and maintaining a positive work environment
• Ability to safely work at heights up to 60 feet while following fall protection protocols
• Experience with material handling equipment preferred; willingness to learn required
• Must be at least 18 years old to operate heavy equipment, including forklifts and hoists

• Ability to work in a warehouse environment
