LOCAL FABRICATION COMPANY SEEKING CDL DRIVERS (FULL-TIME, LONG-TERM POSITION)
We are seeking reliable and safety-focused CDL Drivers to join our fabrication and manufacturing team. This is a long-term, full-time opportunity supporting the transportation of fabricated materials, steel products, equipment, and supplies to job sites and customers throughout the region. Most routes are local or regional, allowing drivers to return home regularly and work independently while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
The ideal candidate will possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), a strong work ethic, and the ability to safely transport oversized, heavy, or specialized fabrication materials. Experience hauling steel, fabricated products, construction materials, flatbeds, or heavy equipment is preferred.
CDL Driver Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with dispatch, shop personnel, customers, and project managers.
- Safely operate commercial vehicles in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload fabricated materials, steel products, equipment, and other cargo.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, and delivery documentation in compliance with DOT requirements.
- Ensure all cargo is properly secured and transported safely to prevent damage during transit.
- Follow established delivery schedules while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials when needed.
- Verify load contents and delivery information before departing and upon arrival.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance of assigned vehicles and equipment.
- Adhere to all workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Work closely with fabrication, warehouse, and operations teams to support production and delivery schedules.
- Operate forklifts, cranes, or other material-handling equipment as required (training may be provided).
- Support other shop and yard activities during downtime as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A
- Clean driving record and commitment to safe driving practices.
- Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and vehicle safety requirements.
- Experience with flatbed trailers, steel hauling, construction materials, or heavy equipment transportation preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift, secure, and manage heavy materials safely.
