Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced New York State Licensed Master Plumber with extensive experience in natural gas and fuel gas systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, inspection, and troubleshooting of residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing and gas systems while ensuring compliance with all New York State and local codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, service, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, piping, and equipment.
• Perform gas piping installations for natural gas and propane systems.
• Conduct leak detection, pressure testing, and troubleshooting of gas distribution systems.
• Install and service gas-fired equipment, including boilers, water heaters, furnaces, and commercial appliances.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and plumbing schematics.
• Obtain permits and coordinate inspections with local authorities as required.
• Ensure all work complies with New York State Plumbing Code, Fuel Gas Code, and local municipal regulations.
• Diagnose plumbing and gas system issues and develop effective repair solutions.
• Estimate labor, materials, and project timelines.
• Supervise journeyman plumbers, apprentices, and subcontractors.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and project documentation.
• Respond to emergency plumbing and gas service calls when necessary.
• Promote and enforce workplace safety standards and OSHA regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Current New York State Master Plumber License.
• Minimum 5–10 years of plumbing experience, including substantial gas piping and gas equipment installation experience.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Natural gas distribution systems
• Fuel gas codes
• Backflow prevention systems
• Water supply and drainage systems
• Boiler and water heater installations
• Plumbing and mechanical codes
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with pressure testing, gas leak detection, and system commissioning.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces, rooftops, basements, and construction environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on commercial and industrial projects.
• OSHA 30 Certification.
• NYC Department of Buildings filing and permitting experience.
• Backflow Prevention Certification.
• Welding, brazing, and pipefitting experience.
• Experience supervising field personnel and managing projects.
