A growing wood door manufacturer in Clinton Township is seeking a detail-oriented individual with strong math and Excel skills to support its order entry, engineering, and production teams. This position involves reviewing customer orders, verifying specifications, communicating with customers to resolve discrepancies, and accurately entering data into Excel, Google Sheets, and the company's ERP system.
This assignment is expected to last a minimum of three months, with the potential to become a permanent opportunity based on business needs and individual performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Review approximately 20 customer orders per day, each with multiple door sizes or machining sheets
- Verify dimensions, components, and specifications for each order (core, sides, rails, hardware, windows, etc.)
- Convert and confirm measurements in feet, inches, and fractions using a tape measure or calculator
- Communicate with customers via email to clarify missing or unclear information
- Highlight and cross-check order details for accuracy and completeness
- Enter finalized data into Excel, Google Sheets, and the internal ERP system
- Collaborate closely with engineering and production to ensure orders are accurate and production-ready
Qualifications
- Strong math skills and ability to work with fractions, decimals, and measurements
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, with the ability to navigate multiple worksheets
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
- Comfortable communicating with customers and asking clarifying questions
- Previous experience in order entry, customer service, administrative support, inside sales support, or a manufacturing office environment preferred
- Experience working with custom products, manufacturing, construction, or woodworking is a plus
Schedule & Pay
- Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Pay: $24–$28/hour, based on experience
- Minimum three-month contract assignment with the potential for permanent hire based on workload and individual performance.
