A well-established stone fabrication and installation company specializing in custom natural and engineered stone, providing high-quality stone fabrication and installation for custom homes, tract home developments, multi-family condominiums and apartments, as well as commercial projects including upscale hotels is seeking an organized and customer-focused CNC Programmer to join their team in Chatsworth.

Summary: This position is ideal for an experienced CNC Programmer with a strong background in stone fabrication, CAD/CAM programming, and production optimization. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring accurate programming, maximizing material utilization, and supporting efficient shop operations. The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing and optimizing CNC programs for stone fabrication equipment, reviewing architectural drawings, performing material takeoffs, and collaborating closely with production teams to ensure accurate, high-quality fabrication. This role requires expertise in CAD/CAM software, stone fabrication processes, and 5-axis machining technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Review construction blueprints and architectural plans to perform accurate material takeoffs and estimates using PlanSwift.
  • Utilize 2D AutoCAD to review, edit, and clean up DXF/DWG shop drawings, digital templates, and architectural files for production.
  • Create precise 5-axis CNC programs for Donatoni and GMM bridge saws and multi-axis programs for Flow Waterjet systems using EasyStone CAD/CAM software.
  • Use digital slab imaging software to optimize slab layouts, maximize material yield, and perform vein matching and book-matching.
  • Run program simulations to identify and eliminate machine collisions, vacuum pod interference, tooling conflicts, and programming errors before releasing files to production.
  • Collaborate with saw and waterjet operators to troubleshoot programming, tooling, and production issues on the shop floor.
  • Ensure all CNC programs meet company quality standards, customer specifications, and production schedules.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve programming efficiency, material utilization, and manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain organized digital files, programming documentation, and revision control.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of CNC programming experience in the stone fabrication industry.
  • Proficiency with 2D AutoCAD and EasyStone CAD/CAM software.
  • Experience performing material takeoffs using PlanSwift.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience programming or operating Donatoni, GMM, or Flow Waterjet machinery is highly preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of 5-axis CNC programming, interpolation, mitering, blade offsets, and abrasive waterjet technology.
  • Strong knowledge of natural and engineered stone characteristics, including grain direction, hardness, fracture tendencies, and fabrication best practices for granite, quartz, porcelain, quartzite, and marble.
  • Ability to interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, and construction documents.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with digital slab imaging and nesting optimization software.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication workflows and production scheduling.
  • Ability to identify process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce material waste.

Experience working collaboratively with fabrication and installation teams.
