Nutrition Program Support Specialist 

We are seeking a Nutrition Program Support Specialist for an excellent opportunity with a well-established nonprofit organization in Lake County. This full-time temporary position will provide administrative and operational support for a nutrition program, helping ensure food service operations, documentation, purchasing, and compliance activities continue to run smoothly.

General Responsibilities: 

  • Provide administrative and operational support for a high-volume program environment. 
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, spreadsheets, and supporting documentation. 
  • Review information for accuracy and completeness while helping resolve discrepancies. 
  • Assist with tracking expenses, reconciling records, and organizing financial documentation. 
  • Support purchasing activities, vendor communications, and order coordination. 
  • Monitor inventory-related information and help ensure necessary supplies are available to support operations. 
  • Prepare reports, summaries, and other business documents for management review. 
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely completion of operational tasks and projects. 
  • Provide general support to leadership and team members during a busy operational period. 

Ideal Background: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.  
  • 2+ years of experience in administrative support, operations coordination, inventory management, accounting support, or food service administration.  
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.  
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.  
  • Experience with invoice processing, purchasing, inventory management, compliance reporting, or audit documentation preferred.  
  • Background in food service, school nutrition, nonprofit operations, warehouse logistics, or supply chain environments is a plus.  
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and work in both office and kitchen environments.
