Drapery Measuring Table Specialist

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals in Waterloo is partnered with a local manufacturing company that is seeking a Drapery Measuring Table Specialist to join their team. This position involves reading work orders, measuring custom drapery to exact specifications, trimming fabric, and pressing hems to ensure high-quality finished products. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, precise, and comfortable working with textiles and measuring tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret work orders
• Measure custom drapery panels to exact finished-length specifications
• Trim excess fabric using fabric shears
• Press accurate hem turns to meet quality standards
• Ensure all finished products meet work order requirements
• Maintain accuracy and quality throughout the production process
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
• Keep work areas clean and organized

Qualifications:

• Strong ability to read a tape measure accurately
• Excellent attention to detail and precision
• Experience with measuring, sewing, textiles, or similar hands-on work preferred
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and specifications
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Experience using fabric shears and pressing irons is a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to move around a measuring table throughout the shift
• Ability to handle and manipulate drapery fabric
• Ability to safely use fabric shears and pressing irons
• Ability to operate table clamps and other measuring equipment
