Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PMEmployment Type: Full-Time
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Welder Helper to assist our main welder with metal fabrication work. This position will involve cutting, bending, and preparing metal materials while learning to operate various shop equipment. Training will be provided on specific machines, including a CNC 100-ton press.
The most important requirement for this position is the ability to accurately read and understand a tape measure. Candidates must be comfortable taking measurements and following shop drawings to ensure materials are prepared correctly.
Assist the main welder with cutting and bending metal
Accurately measure materials using a tape measure
Read and follow blueprints and shop drawings
Learn to operate CNC equipment, including a CNC 100-ton press (training provided)
Assist with CNC turret press operations (machines are already programmed)
Shear materials of different gauges
Use MIG welding knowledge to assist with fabrication tasks
Operate basic hand tools, power drills, pneumatic tools, impact wrenches, and torque wrenches
Use banding machines to prepare materials
Perform basic math calculations related to measurements and fabrication
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Follow all safety procedures and quality standards
Must know how to read a tape measure accurately
Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings
Basic MIG welding knowledge preferred
Experience using hand tools and power tools
Basic math skills
Reliable, dependable, and willing to learn
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
Ability to work in a manufacturing/fabrication environment
