Maintenance Mechanic I (Temporary Assignment)

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic I for a temporary assignment supporting a busy manufacturing facility through the end of September. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled industrial maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and keeping production equipment operating at peak performance.

Employment Type: Temporary (Through End of November)
Work Conditions: Manufacturing / Industrial Facility
Pay: $30.00 per hour
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Position Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic I is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on production equipment and facility machinery. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility machinery
Diagnose and repair mechanical equipment to minimize production downtime
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on production equipment
Repair and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, and power transmission systems
Inspect equipment for proper operation and identify potential maintenance concerns
Operate power tools, grinders, hoists, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments safely
Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and repairs
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
Follow all company safety policies and preventative maintenance procedures
Work closely with production personnel to support manufacturing operations

Minimum Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience
Experience operating standard power tools, grinders, hoists, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments
Solid understanding of:
- Pneumatic systems
- Hydraulic systems
- Pumps
- Overhead cranes
- Power transmission components (belts, pulleys, chains)
Electrical troubleshooting and repair experience
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
Reliable attendance and dependable work history

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working on CNC machines is a plus but not required
Manufacturing or industrial production environment experience
Welding or fabrication experience is a plus
