What is the Opportunity?

 

We are recruiting for an Assistant Controller to join a growing conglomerate of agricultural manufacturing, distribution, and livestock production businesses. This position is a development position that reports directly to the Controller and is intended to assume the Controller position upon retirement within a year.

 

How will you spend your time?

  • Work with accounting staff in executing accounting cycle activities for 7 business entities.
  • Fixed asset management.
  • Cash, financial and risk management.
  • Financial and management reporting.
  • Support Human Resource and payroll management.
  • Manage IT vendor relations in maintaining necessary IT systems.
  • Work with CPA firm in completion of annual audit.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing efficiency improvements.

 

Qualified candidate will possess the following:

  • Experience:
    • Seasoned Staff Accountant or Assistant Controller, preferably in an agriculturally based business.
    • CPA with meaningful exposure to conglomerates and agriculturally based businesses.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Certifications: preferred CPA license
  • Proficient with all aspects of accounting cycle and roles
  • Proficient with financial and management reporting
  • Proficient with all forms of business taxes and reporting
  • Proficient with accounting and management reporting software
  • Proficient English written and verbal communication
  • Personable, with good leadership style
