Fixed Operations Customer Service – $25–$27/hr

Location: Portland Metro Area, OR
Pay: $25.00–$27.00 per hour, depending on experience and overall fit

A full-service semi-trailer dealership is seeking an experienced and customer-focused professional to join its Parts and Service team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with customers, solving problems, researching parts, and coordinating repair needs in a fast-paced automotive, trucking, or dealership environment.

Job Description

The Fixed Operations Customer Service Representative will assist customers with semi-trailer parts, maintenance, and repair needs by phone, email, and in person. This position works closely with customers, mechanics, manufacturers, and vendors to identify parts, prepare repair estimates, coordinate service needs, and ensure customers remain informed throughout the repair process.

A strong customer service background is essential, along with the ability to research problems, learn technical information, and confidently communicate solutions.

Responsibilities

Assist customers by phone, email, and in person with parts and service requests
Identify appropriate semi-trailer parts and part numbers based on customer needs
Work with manufacturers, vendors, and technical support to identify and order parts
Research parts using catalogs, online resources, cross-references, and vendor connections
Check parts availability and recommend appropriate solutions
Pull and prepare customer parts orders for shipping or delivery
Make occasional parts deliveries throughout the Portland Metro area
Create purchase orders for special-order parts and ensure accurate invoicing
Communicate trailer repair needs to mechanics through detailed work orders
Prepare estimates for parts and labor associated with trailer repairs
Explain recommended repairs, costs, and approval needs to customers
Keep customers informed throughout the repair process
Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and professional customer service

Experience

At least 3 years of customer service experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong customer service skills in person, over the phone, and through email
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and email
Strong problem-solving and research skills
Ability to learn new computer systems and technical information
Valid Oregon or Washington driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Must be able to complete a company-administered computer-based assessment

Preferred Experience:

Automotive, truck, trailer, or dealership experience
Trucking industry experience
Basic knowledge of semi-trailers and trailer components
Vehicle repair estimating experience
CDK Truck software experience
Parts department or service department experience

Work Schedule

Monday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Tuesday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Wednesday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Thursday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Friday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Reports To: Parts and Service Manager
