Chemistry Production Lead

Location: Fort Myers, FL
Pay Rate: $25.40 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5:30/6:00 AM until approximately 4:30 PM or until production is complete. Some Saturdays are required based on production needs.

 

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Chemistry Production Lead to oversee daily production operations in a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for leading the production team, assigning work, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and maintaining efficient production processes. The ideal candidate has previous manufacturing leadership experience, strong communication skills, and a hands-on approach to leading a team.

 

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily work assignments for the production team.
• Monitor workflow to ensure production goals and deadlines are met.
• Train, mentor, and support production employees while promoting a positive team environment.
• Communicate production updates, concerns, and issues to management.
• Oversee chemical production processes, including raw material handling, mixing, and packaging.
• Ensure all products meet established quality standards and documented work instructions.
• Perform quality checks and troubleshoot production issues as they arise.
• Promote and enforce all safety procedures and environmental guidelines.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
• Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure timely movement of finished products.
• Work closely with maintenance to keep production equipment operating efficiently.
• Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, shipping, and other departments to support production goals.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and assist with additional projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in chemical production or a similar production environment.
• Previous leadership or team lead experience preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to train and motivate team members.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding manufacturing environment.
• Flexible to work early mornings, overtime, and occasional Saturdays as needed.
• Must be able to successfully pass a background check and any required pre-employment screening.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift and move materials as required.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment while following all safety procedures.
