Express Employment Professionals is recruiting on behalf of a well-established, employee-focused precision manufacturing company located in Tonawanda seeking an experienced CNC or Manual Machinist to join its growing team. Summary
The CNC/Manual Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machining equipment, including CNC grinders, gear-cutting machines, and shapers, to produce precision components that meet exact customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong machining knowledge, blueprint-reading skills, and experience maintaining tight tolerances in a manufacturing setting.
 
Job Duties:
  • Set up and operate CNC machining equipment, including ID and OD grinders, gear hobbers, and shaper machines.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications.
  • Configure tooling, fixtures, and machine parameters to meet production requirements.
  • Inspect and verify part dimensions using a variety of precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM machines.
  • Utilize CAM software and machining programs as needed.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Maintain quality standards while producing precision-machined components.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of CNC machining experience required.
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC equipment such as:
    • OD and ID grinders
    • Gear hobbers
    • Gear shapers
  • Experience with Studer, Toyoda, or Gleason equipment is a plus but not required.
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
  • Experience with CNC programming and CAM software; familiarity with Mastercam and/or SolidWorks is preferred.
  • Ability to accurately use precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
