Warehouse Associate / Yard Labourer

Located in Ottawa, ON

Salary: $20.00 to $21.00 / hour

Our client, a long-standing family-owned local business related to the construction industry, located in the East end of Ottawa, is currently looking to hire Two (2) Warehouse Associates / Yard Labourers to join their team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys physical labour and teamwork.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Must have own steel-toed safety boots
• Strong commitment to workplace safety
• Minimum 6 months of experience in a labour-intensive role (warehouse, construction, landscaping, or similar)
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including travelling between the warehouse and construction sites to assist with deliveries
• Valid G Class driver's licence required
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Eagerness to learn and develop new skills
• Physically capable of safely lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs independently, and heavier loads as part of a coordinated team lift

Assets:

• Bilingualism (English / French)
• Construction experience

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Load and unload materials, equipment, and products from delivery vehicles in a safe and efficient manner
• Assist customers with order pickups by locating, preparing, and loading materials into their vehicles
• Organize, sort, and store inventory to maintain a clean and efficient warehouse environment
• Support delivery drivers with shipments to construction sites throughout the Ottawa Valley as required
• Perform basic repairs and maintenance on equipment and parts using hand tools and power tools
• Prepare, paint, and refinish parts and equipment as needed
• Act as a spotter to ensure the safe movement of materials and equipment within the warehouse
• Operate a forklift to transport materials and assist with loading and unloading activities following successful certification
• Provide backup delivery support by transporting products and equipment to customer locations and construction sites throughout the Ottawa area
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment at all times

The starting wage for this position ranges between $20.00 to $21.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Monday to Friday – 7:00am to 4:30pm
