EDM/CNC Machinist

Location: Wilkes-Barre, PA
Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM – 11:00 PM
Pay Rate: $25.00–$30.00 per hour

Position Summary

A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a skilled EDM/CNC Machinist to support precision machining operations through machine programming, set-up, operation, and maintenance of tooling and equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience with EDM and CNC machining, strong blueprint-reading abilities, and a thorough understanding of machining processes and safety procedures. This individual will work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and accuracy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate EDM and CNC machinery to produce precision components.
• Perform machine adjustments and troubleshooting to ensure optimal production performance.
• Operate manual milling machines, grinders, lathes, and saws as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring instruments.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and assist with repairs when necessary.
• Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
• Follow all department procedures, quality standards, and work instructions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and maintenance personnel to support manufacturing objectives.
• Document machine setups, programming changes, and production information as required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an EDM Machinist, CNC Machinist, Toolmaker, or related manufacturing professional preferred.
• Knowledge of general machining processes and machining principles.
• Experience with CNC programming and machine setup.
• Ability to operate manual milling machines, grinders, lathes, and saws.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of precision measuring tools and inspection techniques.
• Understanding of manufacturing safety practices, equipment, and procedures.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to collaborate with related departments to support production goals.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and use of hands for machine operation and inspection activities.
• Ability to lift materials and tooling as required.
• Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment and machinery.
