Warehouse Manager – International Logistics & eCommerce Fulfillment

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee a growing eCommerce warehouse operation with a strong focus on international shipping, import/export logistics, customs compliance, and supply chain coordination.
This position is responsible for managing all warehouse functions including receiving, inventory control, returns processing, fulfillment, shipping, transportation, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience coordinating domestic and international freight movements by air, ocean, road, parcel, and courier networks, while maintaining operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer service.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong operations background and the ability to manage both warehouse activities and international logistics processes.
Primary Responsibilities
International Shipping & Logistics Leadership
- Manage domestic and international shipments through parcel, LTL, FTL, air freight, and ocean freight channels.
- Coordinate import and export activities with freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping lines, airlines, and transportation providers.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, HTS/HS classifications, certificates of origin, and customs paperwork.
- Monitor international shipments and proactively resolve customs holds, port delays, carrier issues, and documentation discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs requirements, and transportation standards.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with freight providers, customs brokers, carriers, and logistics partners.
- Evaluate freight performance, transit times, carrier costs, and international shipping efficiencies.
Warehouse Operations Management
- Lead all receiving, returns processing, inspections, inventory control, fulfillment, picking, packing, and shipping activities.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and warehouse best practices.
- Manage inbound and outbound workflows to meet daily service levels and customer expectations.
- Oversee warehouse organization, storage optimization, and process improvements.
- Drive operational efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
Team Leadership & Workforce Management
- Supervise warehouse supervisors, team leads, warehouse associates, and temporary staff.
- Conduct coaching, training, performance evaluations, and workforce planning.
- Develop employees and maintain a culture of accountability, urgency, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate staffing requirements with recruiting and staffing partners as needed.
Compliance, Safety & Reporting
- Ensure OSHA compliance and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct safety audits, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Maintain KPI reporting on inventory accuracy, productivity, shipping performance, labor utilization, and customer service metrics.
- Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse and logistics operations.
Required Qualifications
Must-Have Experience
- 5+ years of warehouse, distribution center, fulfillment, or logistics management experience.
- 3+ years of experience managing international shipping and logistics operations.
- Hands-on experience with import/export processes, freight forwarding, customs documentation, and carrier management.
- Experience coordinating air freight, ocean freight, ground transportation, and parcel shipping networks.
- Strong knowledge of customs compliance, shipping documentation, and international transportation requirements.
- Experience leading warehouse teams in a high-volume environment.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, inventory tools, and Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- eCommerce fulfillment or reverse logistics experience.
- Experience with UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL, freight brokers, and international carriers.
- Knowledge of HTS classifications, Incoterms, customs brokerage processes, and global trade compliance.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience.
- Forklift certification or experience managing powered industrial equipment operations.
