HR Project Coordinator

A local nonprofit organization is seeking a Human Resources Program Coordinator to support daily HR operations, employee programs, compliance initiatives, recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees while helping maintain HR systems, training programs, compliance requirements, and organizational culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for employee questions and concerns
  • Support recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and offboarding processes
  • Maintain HRIS, personnel records, payroll-related changes, and employee documentation
  • Coordinate compliance programs, training initiatives, credentialing, and regulatory requirements
  • Track and monitor organizational policies, licenses, certifications, and required documentation
  • Prepare HR reports, dashboards, and program performance metrics
  • Assist with employee development programs, internships, volunteer programs, and mentoring initiatives
  • Maintain confidential employee information and HR records
  • Support process improvements, documentation, and HR projects
  • Promote a positive workplace culture and employee engagement

Qualifications

  • Associate degree plus 2 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • HR certification preferred (aPHR, OSHA, or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with HRIS and timekeeping systems
  • Reporting, data analysis, and administrative writing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and relationship-building skills

Physical Requirements

  • Office environment with extended periods of sitting and computer work
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
  • Occasional walking, filing, climbing stairs, and document handling
