Optometry Technician

Located in Abilene, TX

We are looking for an Optometry Technician to join a growing eye care team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with patients in a fast-paced medical office while helping provide exceptional vision care.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for eye examinations.
• Obtain patient medical histories and update records.
• Perform preliminary testing, including visual acuity, auto-refraction, tonometry, and other diagnostic screenings.
• Assist the optometrist during patient exams and procedures.
• Educate patients on contact lens care, eyewear options, and treatment plans.
• Assist with frame selection and eyewear fittings as needed.
• Maintain exam rooms and ensure equipment is clean and functioning properly.
• Schedule appointments, answer phones, and assist with front office duties when needed.
• Provide outstanding customer service throughout the patient experience.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an optometry, ophthalmology, or medical office preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer and electronic medical records (EMR) experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
