Express Employment Professionals is conducting a confidential search for a Graphic Pre-Press Specialist on behalf of a growing manufacturing company in the Guelph area.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and detail-oriented professional with digital pre-press experience who understands both the design and technical side of print production. In this role, you’ll prepare production-ready artwork, support customers and internal teams, and ensure printed packaging meets the highest standards of accuracy and quality.

 

Key Responsibilities

Graphic Design & Pre-Press Production

  • Create and prepare artwork for digital can printing, shrink sleeves, labels, and packaging.
  • Review customer files to ensure they meet print production requirements.
  • Build, modify, and maintain dielines and templates.
  • Complete colour correction, trapping, imposition, and file optimization for print.
  • Prepare final press-ready files for digital and shrink-sleeve production.
  • Maintain organized project files and ensure consistent quality standards.

Customer & Internal Support

  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and customers to confirm artwork requirements.
  • Provide proofs, recommendations, and design adjustments as needed.
  • Troubleshoot artwork issues and recommend solutions that support both design and production requirements.
  • Ensure files meet machine specifications and production standards.
  • Assist with internal marketing materials including mockups, displays, flyers, and packaging visuals.

 

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of graphic design experience, ideally within packaging, printing, or digital pre-press.
  • Strong understanding of print workflows and pre-press processes.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Knowledge of colour profiles, CMYK vs. RGB, spot colours, and print limitations.
  • Experience creating production-ready artwork, including dielines, bleeds, and safe areas.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Portfolio showcasing relevant design and print work is required.
