Commercial Kitchen Equipment / Refrigeration Technician – Baton Rouge 

EVALUATION HIRE

$20-27 / Hr.  depending on experience

Monday – Friday 7 am - 3 pm

 

 

Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing and recruiting firm, is currently seeking a Commercial Kitchen Equipment / Refrigeration Technician in the Baton Rouge area. This position is ideal for a technician with strong troubleshooting skills who enjoys working independently while providing outstanding service to restaurants, healthcare facilities, schools, convenience stores, and other commercial foodservice operations.

 

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES for Technician: 

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial kitchen equipment and refrigeration systems.
• Service reach-in coolers, walk-in coolers/freezers, ice machines, prep tables, and other refrigeration equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair commercial cooking equipment, including ovens, fryers, grills, steamers, and ranges.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and recommend corrective actions.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and schematics.
• Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation.
• Provide professional customer service and communicate repair recommendations.
• Follow all safety, EPA, and company procedures.

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• 2+ years of experience servicing commercial kitchen equipment, refrigeration systems, or HVAC/R equipment preferred.
• EPA Section 608 Certification required or ability to obtain quickly.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with refrigeration controls, compressors, and gas-fired equipment preferred.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently manage service calls.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
