Job Description: Machine Operator

First Shifts 6a.m-2:30p.m.

Second Shifts: 2:30p.m.-11:00p.m.

 

Pay Rate $24.00 and $.50 shift premium

 

 

A leading Detroit automotive supplier in the automotive industry, specializing in high-quality components and systems for body components manufacturing is looking for Machine Operators. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing our products based on specific schematics, work instructions, and quality specifications ensuring all safety protocols are followed. Operators must be willing and able to work any shift and overtime as required.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Loading, unloading, light metal finish and inspection of exterior automotive body parts according to work instructions and quality specifications.
2. Adhering to established safety and efficiency procedures to ensure optimal operations of production lines.
3. Packing assembled parts into racks according to specifications.
4. Stopping the assembly line and alerting supervision if machinery fails or a major defect is detected.
5. Maintaining records of mechanical repairs and adjustments.
6. Other duties and tasks as assigned.

 

Education:

1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. At least two years of experience working on robotic assembly lines, metal finish experience strongly preferred.

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

1. Solid understanding of production machinery and proper assembly procedures.
2. Excellent knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols and regulations.
3. Ability to read and interpret drawings, work instructions, and quality specifications.
4. Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
5. Strong attention to detail.
6. Proven reliability and excellent work attendance record.

 

Physical and Mental Requirements:

1. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear
3. Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
