Warehouse & Distribution Manager

Express Employment Professionals Guelph is recruiting on behalf of a well-established third-party logistics and distribution company specializing in pharmaceutical products, vitamins, agricultural products, animal feed, and industrial materials. We are seeking an experienced Warehouse & Distribution Manager to lead day-to-day operations while ensuring regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and exceptional customer service.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with experience in warehouse management, pharmaceutical distribution, GMP compliance, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall day-to-day operations of the warehouse and distribution facility.
  • Hire, train, mentor, and supervise warehouse and customer service staff.
  • Lead, motivate, and support a team of approximately six employees.
  • Develop new business opportunities while maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Prepare pricing, budgets, and operational forecasts.
  • Oversee warehouse maintenance, facility upkeep, and material handling equipment.
  • Coordinate and supervise contract personnel as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Health Canada regulations, GMP guidelines, and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Develop, maintain, review, and enforce warehouse SOPs.
  • Monitor incoming product documentation and inventory controls.
  • Manage quarantined and saleable inventory according to approved procedures.
  • Oversee product storage conditions to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise relabeling activities while maintaining label security and traceability.
  • Conduct annual warehouse audits and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure safe forklift operation through operator assessments, preventative maintenance, inspections, and ongoing training.
  • Maintain compliance with all workplace health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of business and management experience in warehouse, logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations.
  • Previous leadership experience managing warehouse teams.
  • Experience within pharmaceutical, healthcare, regulated manufacturing, or GMP environments is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and pharmaceutical quality procedures.
  • Previous QA/QC experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control, shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge of Health Canada regulations and customs/bonded warehouse processes is an asset.
  • Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certification is preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting and managerial accounting.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Forklift experience is considered an asset.
