We have an opening for a Pavement Marking Laborer/Driver position working at a company that provides highway marking and striping services throughout the Southeastern United States. This is an evaluation-to-hire opportunity with potential for full-time placement.
*** MUST BE ABLE TO WORK A CONSTANTLY CHANGING WORK SCHEDULE AVERAGING 55-65 HOURS PER WEEK ***
Skills/Qualifications
A valid Driver's License is required.
A clean driving record (MVR) is required.
Previous construction experience is preferred.
Must be willing to wear proper PPE at all times while on the job site.
Ability to use smart phone and applications.
Must be available to work a constantly changing work schedule.
Must be capable of working an entire work week on a consistent basis.
Ability to withstand exposure to excessive noise levels, moving traffic, exhaust fumes, and airborne particles during an entire shift.
Ability to work outdoors regardless of weather conditions.
Ability to lift 50 lb. unassisted.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 100 lb. with assistance.
Duties/Responsibilities
Clean and repair road surfaces before painting to ensure proper adhesion.
Apply paint to road surfaces for lane markings, crosswalks, stop signs, and other traffic symbols.
Use specialized tools such as striping machines, spray guns, and measuring devices for accurate placement.
Install preformed thermoplastic pavement marking tape on interstate highways and other thoroughfares.
Inspect and refresh existing markings and repair damaged areas.
Operate hand machines, forklift, hand grinder, 3M hand-tape machine, 3M adhesive applicator and hand-roller tamper cart.
Responsible for making sure all work is done and completed in compliance with DOT and quality guidelines.
Make sure vehicles are in working order (spray systems and/or other truck mounted equipment) and properly loaded each and every day; make sure vehicles are kept clean and neat inside and out.
Make sure pre-trip and post-trip inspection forms are filled out properly.
Be trained and able to operate and maintain at least 6 different pieces of equipment.
Follow state and federal safety regulations, work with traffic control personnel, and ensure markings meet code.
