Sous Chef

Salary: Starting at $45,000 annually (based on experience)
Location: Hazle Township, PA 
Schedule: Wednesday–Sunday, 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to assist with daily kitchen operations and lead a team in delivering exceptional food quality and guest experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong culinary skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food preparation, safety, and sanitation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing daily kitchen operations and support the Executive Chef in overseeing food production and service.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff to ensure efficiency, teamwork, and adherence to established standards.
  • Prepare, cook, and oversee the presentation of menu items to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Monitor food preparation processes to maintain proper portion control and minimize waste.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, storing, and rotating inventory.
  • Help develop and implement new menu items and specials as directed.
  • Manage kitchen workflow during busy service periods to ensure timely ticket completion.
  • Perform opening and closing responsibilities and maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment.
  • Step into leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Executive Chef.

Qualifications

  • Previous Sous Chef, Lead Cook, or supervisory kitchen experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety practices.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Flexible, dependable, and committed to delivering high-quality food and service.
  • Must be available to work Wednesday through Sunday, 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
