Janitorial Cleaner

Location: Waterloo, IA
Pay: $15.00/hour
Schedule: Part-time, Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–6:00 PM (Some Saturdays as needed)
Type: Temp-to-Hire Opportunity

Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a reliable Janitorial Cleaner to maintain cleanliness and organization at the Varsity Building and Milroy's plant in Waterloo. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, can work independently, and is committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain facilities 
• Perform routine janitorial duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal
• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, common areas, and workspaces
• Use cleaning tools, equipment, and supplies safely and effectively
• Ensure assigned cleaning tasks are completed thoroughly and on schedule
• Report any maintenance or safety concerns as needed
• Assist with additional cleaning projects and catch-up work on Saturdays when necessary

Qualifications:

• Previous janitorial or cleaning experience preferred but not required
• Ability to work independently and stay on task
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as needed
• Ability to stand and walk for the entirety of the shift
• Comfortable using cleaning equipment, tools, and supplies
• Strong attention to detail and reliability
• Ability to follow directions and maintain a safe work environment
