Material Handler (Hilo)-Plant 1 (Train on 1st)

Located in Kentwood, MI

Salary: $18.00/HR + $1.25 premium

Material Handler Job Summary:

An automotive manufacturing company is seeking a material handler to assist their team.  This position requires a team member who will be responsible for warehouse organization, staging product to and from the line, and updating the ERP system.  The role requires flexibility, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Material Handler Responsibilities:

• Loading and unloading goods and materials from trucks and other vehicles and stacking them in their designated place
• Locating and moving product stocks to crates or pallets for shipment storage
• Steering forklifts safely in busy or crowded environments
• Identifying damages and reporting discrepancies for goods deliveries
• Inspecting and maintaining machinery to reduce downtime and facilitate longevity.
• Maintaining inventories and updating records and activity logs
• Comply with company safety policies, and legal guidelines
• Adhering to standard operating procedures to operate forklifts and maintain a safe working environment
• Verify labels and counts for accuracy.
• Prepare skids to ship by shrink wrapping and placing in staging area.
• Keeping shipping area clean and organized
• Performs miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.

 Schedule and Pay:

• 2^nd shift: 2:50pm-11:05pm Mon-Fri (OT as needed)
• $19.25/HR

Material Handler Qualifications:

• Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions
• Able to become Hi-Lo Certified
• Climb off and on forklift repeatedly 8+ hours.
• Wrap skids of parts multiple times per shift using wrapping machine
• In-depth knowledge of the ERP system.
• Strong understanding of the overall product flow within the operation.
• Extensive knowledge of individual parts and warehouse locations.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to work regular schedules set forth by the Management team.
• Must be a strong team player.
