Facilities Maintenance Technician

Position: Facilities Maintenance Technician
Pay Rate: $20.00–$25.00 per hour (based on experience)
Location: Hospital Facility, KCMO 64111
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician. This position is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks involving buildings, grounds, and equipment within a multi-facility healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in general building maintenance, preventive maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, and minor repairs while maintaining a safe and professional work environment.

Because this position is located within a hospital, candidates must be able to a background check.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance and monitoring activities on a variety of equipment.
• Paint, patch, and plaster walls as needed.
• Repair and replace wall tile, floor tile, wall coverings, and fixtures.
• Assemble, repair, and construct furniture, doors, shelving, and other facility equipment.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs and installations, including:
  • Clearing clogged drains and sewage lines
  • Repairing or replacing faucets, toilets, sinks, valves, and other plumbing fixtures
• Perform general building repairs and maintenance as assigned.
• Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Follow all organizational, departmental, and hospital safety policies and procedures.
• Remain alert and attentive while on duty and perform work in accordance with established safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of general maintenance practices, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, and basic repairs.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Excellent attendance and reliability.

Requirements

• Clean background check required (hospital environment).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work, including standing, walking, climbing ladders, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.
• Must be able to work safely in a healthcare environment and comply with all hospital policies and procedures.

Pay: $20.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience.
