Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Benefits Technician to support the administration of employee benefits programs in a fast-paced Human Resources environment. This position is responsible for processing employee benefit enrollments and changes, maintaining accurate records, reconciling invoices and billing data, generating reports, and collaborating with Payroll, Human Resources, Accounts Payable, and benefit vendors to ensure timely and accurate benefits administration.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with high-volume data entry, employee records, benefits administration, payroll support, or accounting processes, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Process employee benefit enrollments, status changes, and terminations across multiple payroll and benefits administration systems.
- Enter, verify, update, and maintain employee benefits information with a high level of accuracy.
- Prepare, review, and reconcile benefit invoices to ensure accurate vendor billing and payment processing.
- Create billing summaries, supporting documentation, and spreadsheets for submission to Accounts Payable.
- Generate recurring and ad hoc reports utilizing benefits platforms, HR systems, payroll systems, and Microsoft Excel.
- Monitor and reconcile enrollment data and vendor billing records, researching and resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Partner with Benefits Vendors, Payroll, Human Resources, and Accounts Payable teams to ensure accurate benefit administration and timely payments.
- Assist with open enrollment activities and other high-volume benefits processing projects.
- Maintain confidential employee information in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Support special projects and departmental initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience performing high-volume data entry and maintaining accurate records.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
- PivotTables
- Formulas and functions
- Sorting and filtering
- Data validation and reconciliation
- Experience generating and analyzing reports from HR, payroll, or benefits administration systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive employee information with professionalism and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Human Resources, Benefits Administration, Payroll Support, or Accounting Support.
- Experience working with HRIS, payroll systems, or benefits administration platforms.
- Previous experience reconciling invoices, billing statements, or employee benefit records.
- Knowledge of employee benefits processes, including enrollments, eligibility, and vendor billing.
