Accounting Clerk/Bookkeeper

Position Overview

We are looking for a hands-on and collaborative Accounting Professional to join our manufacturing team. This role is ideal for someone with practical cost accounting experience who enjoys working in a team environment and contributing to ongoing improvements in costing and accounting processes.


Key Responsibilities

     Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and support daily accounting operations

     Take an active role in cost accounting, including:

     Product costing and cost structure analysis

     Inventory tracking and valuation

     Variance analysis (materials, labor, overhead)

     Support the enhancement and consistency of costing processes and reporting

     Prepare month-end close schedules, journal entries, and reconciliations, with ability to work independently and provide outputs for review

     Assist with tax and regulatory filings and support preparation of working papers for review

     Perform inventory reconciliations and assist with physical inventory counts

     Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks etc.

     Process payroll using Payworks

     Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, operations) to improve cost tracking

     Assist in improving accounting processes, workflows, and internal controls

     Assist with internal and external audits

     Support ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed


Key Qualifications

     2–5 years of accounting experience, with hands-on exposure to cost accounting in a manufacturing environment

     Solid understanding of product costing, inventory, and variance analysis

     Experience supporting or preparing month-end close and basic tax filings

     Ability to prepare working files independently with good accuracy, for review

     Comfortable handling both transactional accounting tasks (AP, data entry, reconciliations) and analytical work

     Hands-on, detail-oriented, and well-organized, with strong ownership of work

     Strong learning ability and self-motivation, with a proactive approach

     Strong Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data organization)

     Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

     Team-oriented, practical, and adaptable in a growing environment

     Experience with QuickBooks and/or Payworks is an asset

     Fluent in English; Mandarin is a strong asset

     Able to work on-site in Cambridge, ON
