Cook – Café & Catering

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

Express Employment Professionals is hiring an experienced Cook for a busy café operation in Akron, Ohio. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys preparing quality food, assisting with catering events, and working as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare soups, entrees, salad bar items, and other daily menu offerings
• Assist with catering preparation, setup, and delivery
• Perform line cooking and food preparation according to recipes and standards
• Help with grill station setup and daily operation
• Maintain food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
• Support menu planning and inventory management
• Assist with product ordering and receiving as needed
• Ensure proper food storage, rotation, and organization
• Provide excellent customer service to café guests and catering customers
• Work efficiently to meet daily production goals and deadlines
• Help maintain a clean and organized kitchen and work area

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience in a restaurant, café, catering, or food service setting
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Dependable with a strong work ethic
• Catering experience is a plus
• ServSafe certification is a plus but not required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for long periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
