Diesel Fleet Mechanic – Up to $40/hr!
Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a Diesel Fleet Mechanic to perform maintenance and repair operations on heavy machinery used in construction and excavation projects.
Position Details:
Type: Evaluation Hire
Schedule: Day Shift (with field response as needed)
Location: Shop based – Omaha, NE
Pay/Salary: Up to $40/hr
Job Duties:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Repair and overhaul engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and related components.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately identify issues.
- Maintain detailed service and repair records for all equipment.
- Coordinate with management to order parts and maintain inventory.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in diesel mechanics preferred.
- Proven experience as a heavy equipment diesel mechanic, preferably in construction or excavation.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic diagnostic skills.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, software, and service equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy equipment maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Subject to background check and pre-employment drug screening.
