Field Service Technician

Our Cambridge Ontario location is presently looking for someone to join our Team as a full time Field Service Technician.  This is a very diverse position, in which your daily activities can include the following:

 

• Unpack and setup machinery on our shop floor.
• Read through work orders to understand the end function of the machinery.
• Install custom modifications and tooling and prepare the machine for customer signoff.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic issues during setup and testing.
• Work closely with other departments (Applications, Engineering, Machine Shop, Inventory) to solving any issues that arise during setup.
• QC the machinery and application with the shop floor supervisor.
• Work with the team to meet strict deadlines on projects.
• Perform runoff with customers either in person or via web meeting.
• Pack equipment for shipment to the customers facility.
• Will be required to work alone or in a team on larger projects.
• Install new equipment and service existing equipment throughout the North American market.  Requires frequent travel within Canada and the United States.
• After the initial training period, Technician will travel on a regular basis – approx.. 2-3 weeks per month and home most weekends.

 

Qualifications and Skills needed include:

• 2-3 year Electro-Mechanical Technician / Technologist diploma.
• 3-5 years experience setting up equipment in an industrial setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Very high attention to detail.
• Mechanical background in order to understand how the machinery operates.
