Job Description: Buyer

 

Primary Function

 

The primary function of a Buyer is to process AIH purchase orders in a timely and conscientious manner.

 

Reports to

· Purchasing Manager

 

Qualifications

 

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to explore new products, digest information and construct rational decisions

· Team player with excellent organizational skills

· Ability to think proactively, problem solve and multi-task in a fast paced office environment

· Ability to pay attention to details and follow through on commitments

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

· High school diploma or equivalent

· One year of experience in the fastener industry preferred

· Basic understanding of industry quality requirements and quality management systems, namely ISO9001and AS9100

· Passion and alignment with AIH quality policy, vision, values and operating principals

Principal Duties

· Receive and process quotes or direct orders from sales personnel

· 

· Ensures that all purchasing activities are in accordance with core processes and AS9100

· Expedite orders when necessary

· Verify item quality requirements

· Work with vendors regularly to discuss availability, quality, etc.

· Review approved vendor requirements

· Work with Receiving and Sales Departments to rectify short-shipments

· Work with Quality Department regarding quality issues

· Send and process Vendor Surveys to new suppliers

· Perform other relevant duties as assigned
