Our client is seeking a temporary Pre-Press Associate!

 

Position Summary

The Pre-Press Associate is responsible for preparing digital files and materials for print production. This role ensures artwork, images, and layouts are accurately processed and transferred to printing plates while maintaining quality standards and production schedules. The Pre-Press Associate works closely with production staff to support efficient press operations and timely completion of print jobs.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Review and prepare digital files for print production.
• Verify file specifications, image quality, formatting, and layout accuracy.
• Operate computer-to-plate (CTP) equipment to transfer images and designs onto aluminum printing plates.
• Inspect printing plates for quality, accuracy, and defects prior to production.
• Load, unload, and stage aluminum printing plates for press operations.
• Monitor production workflows and ensure jobs are completed according to schedule.
• Troubleshoot file, image, and plate-related issues to minimize production delays.
• Maintain accurate records of production jobs and materials.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of pre-press equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Assist with additional production and manufacturing tasks as assigned.

 

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in printing, publishing, manufacturing, graphic arts, or a related field preferred but willing to train.
• Basic knowledge of computer systems and file management.
• Experience with print production software and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality issues.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.

 

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to handle and load aluminum printing plates safely.
• Sufficient vision and manual dexterity to inspect printed materials and operate equipment.

 

Working Conditions

• Manufacturing and production environment with exposure to printing machinery and equipment.
• Use of standard personal protective equipment as required.
• Occasional overtime may be required to meet production deadlines.
